Enjoying the Outdoors this Fall
Fall is a wonderful time to head outdoors. With mild temperatures and beautiful foliage, fall has a lot to offer. Here are some tips on how to enjoy the change of seasons:
Plan a mid-day adventure
Temperature swings of up to twenty degrees can happen on a nice, fall day. Brisk mornings give way to pleasant lunch hours only to have temperatures drop again at dusk. If you’re still used to the hot days of summer, plan to venture outside around noon but come back in by dinner time to avoid those chilly nights!
Layer your clothing
Fall weather is unpredictable and even when it’s supposed to be the perfect-for-hiking 70 degree, sunny day, you might find that 70 degrees feels much hotter (or much colder!) on any given day. Rather than double- and triple-checking your thermostat, be prepared by wearing a long-sleeved layer (or two) atop a short-sleeve wicking shirt.
Watch the leaves
Any outdoor adventure can be full of beauty, but for the most colorful scenes save your days off for the changing of the leaves. Paddle a kayak along a tree-lined river or stroll to the top of your favorite mountain to enjoy the views.
Spending time outdoors is wonderful no matter what season it is, but fall is especially awe-inspiring. Grab your gear and head outdoors before all the leaves have fallen!
